This week was another of marinating and experiments. Here's some updates:
I bought some materials from Michael's to play with. My goal was to create something iridescent. To achieve this, I experimented with painting Pearl FX Metallic Powder Pigments on a variety of surfaces. The best result I've gotten so far is from dusting black Polymer clay with the metallic pigments. Pictures below! (They look better in real life, my phone's camera is a little wonky)
I also sculpted a simple crystal structure and made a silicone mold of it. I'll be playing around with different materials this week to make faux crystals. For my first cast, I'm thinking of mixing Pearl FX pigments, resin, broken glass, and iridescent confetti to make an amethyst. Fingers crossed it comes out well!
This looks beautiful! Good R & D. Good work!
